Great masonry work performed in Granbury Texas

A customer in Laguna Vista, Granbury was dealing with a significant issue where their flagstone masonry walkway and a small retaining wall had partially collapsed. The root cause was an animal burrowing under the structures, displacing the soil and undermining the stability of the entire area. The damage was extensive, with the walkway and wall losing their foundational support and posing both aesthetic and structural concerns.

To address the problem comprehensively, we began by carefully breaking up and removing all the existing rocks to expose the cavity. Once cleared, we filled the void with large riprap stones to provide a sturdy base and coated the area with high-quality concrete for reinforcement, ensuring long-term durability and stability. Next, we skillfully replaced the flagstone to restore the walkway's elegance and functionality.

The retaining wall required special attention, as its foundation had been compromised. We meticulously rebuilt its base, using precision masonry techniques to guarantee strength and prevent future issues. To further improve the site’s resilience, we installed a piping system to direct water flow toward the lake, mitigating the risk of erosion or water pooling near the structures. Additionally, we used anchors capable of holding up to 8,000 pounds each to secure the hill. These anchors were installed as deadheads, effectively tethering the retaining wall to the hill and preventing unwanted movement over time. Despite the invasive nature of this technique, it was carefully executed to preserve the existing vegetation on the hill, avoiding unnecessary erosion and protecting the surrounding environment.

The entire project was completed with exceptional attention to detail, resulting in a visually stunning and structurally sound solution that enhanced the property’s charm and usability. The walkway and retaining wall now stand solid and beautifully integrated with the surrounding environment.
